I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting this Thanksgiving, since just over a year ago I sold my family insurance brokerage.
It’s been an interesting year, with a lot of ups and downs. While not everything happened as I planned, I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on some challenging and meaningful projects with my clients.

I’ve written content, mystery shopped, trained, made connections, managed relationships, written workflows, public speaking, marketing strategy, and much more.
And yet, there is always a part of me that is going to nag “that is not enough”.
Does this sound familiar?
As family business owners, we need to calm the hyper achiever the heck down so that we can preserve our sanity, protect our assets, and keep our batteries charged to be of service to our clients.
Here is the simple process I’ve found works best for me and that I recommend to my clients;
This year, I won’t have staff to have a potluck Thanksgiving lunch with. Instead, I’ll be sharing with my husband and my inner circle. And, I’m attending an online retreat that will help me to continue to make progress towards my ever expanding Vision. Yes, the achiever in me always wants to keep moving forward; I’m just doing it now from a place of calmness and flow. Let me know if you’d like to connect and learn more about it.
Happy Thanksgiving.
